James "Jim" Marshall Bono, Sr. passed away at 3:20 pm on July 2, 2022, at his residence. Jim was born on April 21, 1941, in Vincennes and he was the son of Edmund Sr. and Mary (Ellis) Bono.
Jim married Linda Yates in 1961 and she preceded him in death on November 4, 2018. Jim served his country in the United States Navy and was a telephone technician for Indiana Bell and later AT&T for over thirty-five years. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and baseball. Jim lived to go deer hunting and went every chance he could.
Survivors include his son, Robert "Bobby" Bono and his wife Judy of Vincennes; daughter, Beth Bono of Vincennes; brother, Mike Bono and his wife Sheila of Florida; his grandchildren, Ashlee Morrison, Dalton Cost, Dustin Bono, Emily Thomas and her husband Dylan; his great grandchildren, Asher Cost, Tristyn Riker, and Waverlee Riker. Jim is preceded in death by his parents Edmund Sr. and Mary Bono, his brother, Edmund "Bud" Bono, Jr.; sister Shirley Wilkes; son, James "Jimmy" Bono, Jr.; great grandson Jensen Morrison and wife Linda Bono.
Graveside services celebrating the life of Jim will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Online memories may be shared with Jim's family and friends at www.goodwinsievers.com. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Jim.
