James Bradley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Muffley Funeral Home Inc. on Jan. 8, 2026.
Visitation for James Wayne Bradley Jr. "Jamey", 67, of Clovis, NM will be on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton Street. Services will be at 1:00pm, Monday, January 12, 2026, at The Chapel, with Pastor Lonnie Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery, with Hank Drake, Charles Gonzales, Lance, Billy, Colby, and Kyle Coiner, serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers and sisters of the Clovis Fire Department.
James Wayne Bradley Jr. was born October 2, 1958, in Portales, NM to Theressa (Owens) and James Bradley. He passed away on January 6, 2026, after his battle with cancer. Jamey grew up on the family farm near Floyd, NM. He square danced with his family and his future wife as a teenager and graduated from Floyd in 1976. He began his career at the Clovis Fire Department in 1977, serving the citizens of Clovis for over 26 years. Jamey married the love of his life, Debbie, in 1979 and they raised 3 children together. He was fondly called Papa by 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Jamey preferred welding on plows in the middle of nowhere over being in a crowded place. He was very meticulous and a perfectionist in his work. You could always find him listening to classic rock. If you knew Jamey, you knew he was a simple, honest man and did everything with integrity. He had the best work ethic and raised his children to be the same.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Bradley Sr; his sister, Trina Bradley; his mother-in-law, Ramona Coiner; and his father-in-law, Leonard "Bud" Coiner.
He is survived by Debbie, his wife of more than 46 years; his mother, Theressa Bradley of Portales; his children, John and Mindi Bradley of Melrose, Justin and Kelly Bradley of Clovis, and Kecia and Clint Hopper of Roswell; eight granddaughters, Jaylee, Kinlee, Chelsea (Trey), and Sophia Bradley, Kason, Cassidy, and Chesnea Hopper, and Rose Huerta; three grandsons Zakk (MaKenna), James Kwade, and John Wayne Bradley; one great granddaughter Alanah Huerta; sister Cyrena and Jim McGee; cousin, Gerald Owens, who was more like a brother and his wife Mary; in laws, Leonard Coiner, Linda and Doug Drake, Teresa and Jim Baker, Larry and Jenny Coiner as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jamey and Debbie were blessed immensely by the Hope Lodge in Lubbock. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 3511 10th St. Lubbock, TX 79415.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Muffley Funeral Home, www.muffleyfuneralhome.com, (575)762-4435.

Sorry to see this about Jamie. Hadn't seen or heard anything about him in years. He was always running off to fix / weld on something. Assumed he was still working on something and had not run into him in town. Cancer sucks and it seems like too many good people are getting it. Rest in Peace.
