James (Jim) Edward Brewer, 84, passed away on August 15, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Aree Brewer for 43 years. Jim was born in Lebanon, Ohio and is survived by his sibling, Gina Marshall (Mike) of Blanchester, Ohio, his four children: Jim Brewer of Morrow, Ohio; Teresa Napier (Bob) of South Lebanon, Ohio; Siri Fudge (Jason); Natalie Ernat (Andy); and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. After serving in the Navy Jim began a career as a treatment operator that enabled him to travel the world. While working in Saudi Arabia he traveled throughout Asia, but fell in love with Thailand. On one of his trips he met his wife, Aree. They moved to Tallahassee where Jim began a career with the City of Tallahassee and operated several businesses. In his free time, Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle to the coast. Jim was able to fulfill their lifelong dream of retiring to Thailand. He and Aree enjoyed six wonderful years where Jim raised several farm animals: chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, a pond full of fish, and several rescue cats and a dog. However, his favorite animal was Bobo, the water buffalo. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 22, 2025, at Bevis Funeral Home Chapel, 200 John Knox Rd. Tallahassee, FL 32303. After the service, food and refreshments will be served at their home. Todd Wahlquist is assisting the family with their arrangements (850-385-2193, www.bevisfh.com).
