James Robert Brewer, 66, of Marion, Indiana, passed away in his home at 7:28 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. He was born in Kokomo on September 26, 1958, to Jesse and Maxine (Bell) Brewer.
James attended Marion High School and received his GED from Ivy Tech. He worked for many years as a general laborer with American Woodmark, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic, before retiring.
He married Connie French, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
James was a passionate sports fan, especially devoted to the Chicago Cubs and the Miami Dolphins. He loved playing pool and was an avid bowler, participating in numerous leagues at Crest Lanes and Plaza Bowl. He also enjoyed swimming and spending time with loved ones.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Brewer of Marion; daughter, Kristi (Jason) Wolff; grandsons, Kyle (Haley) Rish, Damon (Kandice) McKee, Austin (Caitlin) Wolff, and Jaydon Kirkland; and many great-grandchildren, Aaliyah McKee, Jaxson McKee, Karter McKee, Liam McKee, Ruby McKee, Bellamy Lewis, Wrigley Rish, Ryleigh Rish, Laiklynn Rish, Ona Lawson, Andre Lawson, Journee Wolff, and Landon Wolff.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Maxine Brewer, and his grandson, Ethan James Wolff.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A service to celebrate James' life will begin immediately following the visitation at 2:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
