James Brinker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapel Hill Mortuary & Memorial Gardens - Cedar Hill on Apr. 15, 2025.
James "Jim" R. Brinker of House Springs, Missouri, was born June 22, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to Richard and Louise (nee Freymyer) Brinker and entered into rest Sunday, April 13, 2025 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 81 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Louise (nee Freymyer) Brinker, and his brother-in-law, Vernon Sander.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Kathleen (nee Mund) Brinker; children, Tim (Lisa) Brinker and Amy (Andy) Edgar; grandchildren, Aiden Edgar, Adelyn Edgar, and Anabelle Edgar; siblings, Janet Sander and Karen (Bob) Sieber; along with numerous other extended family and friends.
Jim had a passion for Civil War history, which he brought to life through his dedication as a Civil War reenactor. His enthusiasm for the past extended into his work, where he spent time buying and selling at antique malls. A proud Marine, Jim served his country with honor for two years, carrying that same sense of duty and pride throughout his life. He had a sweet spot for Jolly Ranchers, a simple pleasure that brought a smile to those who knew him best. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill, MO.
