Mr. James "Jay" Carl Brown September 12, 1937 - December 19, 2025
Mr. James Carl Brown, age 88 of Ewing, VA. passed away at the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. December 19, 2025. He was born September 12, 1937, in Tazewell, TN to Otis and Mae Brown who precede him in death. James was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and was Commander of the VFW #10310 from 1979-1980.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Ann Brown, parents Otis and Mae Buchanan Brown, sisters Wilma Brown and Ruth Brown and brother Raymond Brown.
James is survived by his daughters Ruth A. Siegfried and husband Paul, Tamara Goodman and husband Russ and Cindy R. Conser and husband Randy. Sisters Patsy Mickett and husband Cliff, Peggy Parks and husband Kenneth. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday December 26, 2025, from 11:00am till 1:00pm at the Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm with the Rev. Travis Proffitt officiating. Burial to follow in the Brown Family Cemetery in Tazewell.
Pallbearers: Russ Goodman, Randy Conser, Arville Brown, Raymond Otis Brown, Chris Brown and Matt Lewis.
