James C. Buckner, Sr
Age 89 of New Lenox, IL formerly of Frankfort, IL and Chicago, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Jim was born in Chicago to the late Andrew and Florence (nee Fett) Buckner.
Beloved husband of the late Dolores “Dee” (nee Nelson) Buckner; loving father of Laura (John) Pasko and James (Sabrina) Buckner; cherished grandfather of Joshua (Lindsey) Pasko, Ryan Pasko, Craig Buckner, Nicholas Buckner, and Andrew Buckner; proud great grandfather of Jackson Pasko; dear brother of Judi (late Larry) Peterson; loved uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Jim was a retired union pipefitter and a member of Local 597. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment with full military honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
