James Price "JP" Butler, 44 years of age, of
Pampa, Texas, is no longer plagued with worry of another seizure robbing him of precious time nor memories as he has answered God's call home om Monday, August 5, 2024, at his home. JP was born on August 3, 1980, in Pampa to James Butler and Martha Martinez.
JP attended school in Pampa and entered the workforce in the oilfield where he felt his hard work ethic was validated and put to the test. Over time, he worked in various positions including on drilling rigs, on a pulling unit, as a roustabout and part of the time he got to work with his brother, Barry, for Caldwell Production. At one point, he roofed houses with his cousins and for a while, he detailed cars for Platinum Car Care. JP was a hard worker and wanted nothing more than to complete a job to the best of his ability, then the seizures started and robbed him of so many things. Although tasks he had taken for granted, were now things of the past, JP never let Epilepsy define who he was, nor did he ever feel sorry for himself. He took no pity from anyone, yes, things in his life changed, he had to adjust, but no matter what, he kept putting one foot in front of the other and faced it head on!
Loving to be outside in God's natural beauty, JP looked forward to camping and fishing trips with family and friends. He was an awesome handy man to have around because he could fix just about anything and you could pretty well bet that if he was around, there was music of some sort playing. He wasn't picky, he liked all genres and listened to them all.
JP was raised to use his manners, be courteous, and considerate to others. He was always caring for others above his own needs and family was his core, but his number one priority in life was being a dad to his kids.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandmother, Petra Martinez Rubio; grandfather, Charles Martinez, Sr.; Uncle Patrick Francisco; cousins, Nathanial Matthew Powell and Natasha Martinez.
His memories will be cherished by his father, James Butler of Wichita, KS; mother, Martha Martinez of Clarkston, WA; four sons, Stephan Garza and partner Marissa Stover of Panhandle, Kylar King, Brendan King, Travis Williams all of Pampa; two daughters, Reesee Tambumga of Anthony, KS, Kaitlyn King of Pampa; brother, Barry Martinez of Pampa; nephew and nieces, Bayard Martinez, Maylaya Martinez, Zia Martinez, Savanna Perez; three grandchildren, Embry Garza, Adriel Williams, Noel Williams and many, many extended family members who all loved him dearly.
Celebration of Life Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Martinez officiating. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
To honor JP through donations, the family suggests they be made to either the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas, 2401 Fountain View Dr. Suite 900, Houston, TX 77057-4821 or to Barry's Cash App, $78bmartinez, to help the family with funeral expenses.
