In Loving Memory of Stephen O. Stokes September 21, 1963 – October 19, 2025 Stephen O. Stokes, age 62, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025. Born in Pampa, Texas, Stephen graduated from Pampa High School and spent his life chasing the open road and the dreams that came with it. He worked as a truck driver for Chase, Gordy Trucking, and numerous other companies, always holding close the vision of owning his own trucking business-just like his dad. He was a dreamer, a joker, and a man whose humor could light up a room. His love for the mighty roar of a V8 was matched only by his love for family. Stephen had a special bond with those closest to him-his laughter, stories, and signature phrase, "Mom, do you have a Dr. Pepper?" will echo in their hearts forever. Many will remember him sitting on the front porch, watching the trucks roll by, content in the rhythm of the road and the comfort of home. He was deeply loved by family and friends alike, and his legacy is one of connection, kindness, and grit. Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Clayton and Alene Stokes, and J.D. and Juanita Burke. Their memory, along with his, will be cherished and honored by all who knew them. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his parents, Alton and Bettye Stokes of Pampa, TX; his brothers, Timothy Bryan Stokes of Forney, TX, Daniel Robert Stokes and wife Autumn of Dripping Springs, TX; and two nieces, two great nephews and four great nieces who brought joy to his life. Celebration of Life Memorial Services on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10:00 am at Highland Baptist Church, with Brother Andy Biles officiating, The family has entrusted his cremation care to Winegeart Funeral Home. To share memories, condolences, or expressions of love, friends are encouraged to visit www.winegeartfuneral.com and leave messages on Stephen's Book of Memories. Stephen's legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, and love. His close bond with family and friends was the heartbeat of his life, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
