Mason Eric Zamudio

Mason Eric Zamudio, age 22, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Pampa, was called home to his Lord and Savior far too soon on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in Lubbock. Mason was born on December 11, 2002, in Amarillo, the beloved son of Maggie and Eric Zamudio, and one of two sons in the family.
Mason graduated as Salutatorian from Pampa High School in 2021 and continued his academic journey at Texas Tech University, where he earned his Bachelor of Education with a minor in Political Science, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He dedicated his early career to teaching 8th-grade math at Lamesa Middle School, where his genuine servant's heart and golden character shone brightly.
From the sixth grade onward, Mason gave selflessly as a Vacation Bible School worker and was an essential part of the music and children's ministries at First Baptist Church. Though he may have seemed quiet and serious at first, Mason's vibrant personality quickly became evident. He brought warmth and compassion to everyone he met, holding a special fondness for both children and the elderly.
Mason was remarkably meticulous, living life according to a thoughtfully planned itinerary. He was an old soul at heart, finding beauty and value in sturdy, lasting things, especially vintage furniture and classic country music by legends such as Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, and George Jones. Yet he also appreciated modern luxuries-stylish clothing, elegant jewelry, fine cologne, and all things Italian.
Mason loved to travel, with wineries and vineyards being among his most cherished destinations. Despite his young age, Mason profoundly touched countless lives with his love, kindness, and gentle spirit, leaving a legacy that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandfather, John Thomas, who greeted him with open arms.
Mason's cherished memories and radiant smile will be lovingly held by his father, Eric Zamudio of Pampa; his mother, Maggie Sellers and her husband James of Pampa; his brother, Hudson Zamudio of Sweetwater; his sister, Chayslyn Ensey of San Antonio; grandparents Juan and Elisa Zamudio of Pampa and Laverne Thomas of Groom; aunts and uncles Diana and Sam Thomas of Amarillo, Johnny Ray and Kelly Thomas of Unionville, MO; cousins Jacob and Samantha Tidwell, Collin Thomas, Mila and Declan Tidwell, all of Amarillo; and numerous extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, October 12th, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Monday, from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM, then again on Tuesday morning from 9 AM until 11:30 AM in the Winegeart Funeral Home Serenity Chapel.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Zach Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
