James Christian Caldwell, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 6, 2024, at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. He was born on June 17, 1972, in Lafayette, LA. Chris had a kind heart and a compassionate spirit that touched the lives of everyone he encountered.
Chris dedicated his career to being a small business owner.  He and his wife, Shannon started Clean Living Home Solutions, LLC and grew it into a successful business that Chris thoroughly enjoyed.  He even touched the hearts of his customers so much that they have been supportive through out his Lupus journey.
Apart from his professional life, Chris believed in the power of JESUS and second chances and worked relentlessly to make a positive impact on the lives of others. He was tireless in his efforts to reflect Christ and help those who were incarcerated find redemption and hope in Jesus. Chris had a passion of various interests. He loved helping with the Safer Community Jail Ministries and often listened to ministry podcasts or old classics such as Ravenhill that provided comfort and solace. He also loved all animals.  He shared a deep bond with his Chihuahua companion, Wally, most of all but loved his bully, Rosie, dachshund, Toby, and his Pot Belly Pig, Sherman. They all brought him such joy.
Family was of paramount importance to Chris. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and created countless precious memories together. Riding around the family farm on the gator for hours and fishing at the family pond with his son and dad brought him immense joy.  He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time camping with family.  Chris’ resourcefulness was legendary among those who knew him well. He was a handyman and a jack of all trades and could do anything to make you laugh along the way.
Chris also proudly served in the US Air Force, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to protecting our great nation. His military service was a testament to his bravery, selflessness, and dedication.
Left to cherish Chris' memory is his loving wife of 16 beautiful years, Shannon Caldwell; children Gabriel Caldwell, Isaiah Caldwell, Lydia Caldwell; his mother Barbara Ardoin, his mother in love Joy Kent, his sister Sunny Glenn and her husband Neal; his sister in love Angela Ellington and her husband Dan; nieces and nephews, Jourdan, Morgan, Makenzie, Amber, Paige and Luke. Chris was preceded in death by his dad Robert Hurst and father in love Jim Kent.
Chris will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication to sharing the gospel and giving hope to those in desperate need and serving others will continue to inspire us all. In celebrating his life, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and the countless lives he touched.  Today, we say goodbye to a remarkable man who made this world a better place.
A service to honor and celebrate Chris' life will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday February 18th at Kannapolis Church of God 2211 West A St. Landis, NC.
James Christian Caldwell touched our lives deeply and left an indelible mark on our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he made a significant difference in the lives of many.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Chris's name may be made to Bethel Colony of Mercy, 1675 Bethel Colony Rd., Lenoir, NC 28645.
