James Christopher "Jimmy" Campbell Jr.

James "Jimmy" Christopher Campbell Jr., of Hutto Texas, passed away peacefully in his home on April 27 th, 2023 at the age of 58.
Jimmy was born on February 27, 1965 in Liberty, Texas to parents, James Christopher Campbell Sr. and Betty Jo (Kershaw) Campbell. He grew up with his younger brother, Jason Campbell. He was a proud 1983 high school graduate of East Chambers HS in Winnie, TX. Jimmy's involvement in Mask and Gavel, Honor Society, CYA, Student Council, Theatre, and Band while at East Chambers made him a friend of just about everyone. After graduation, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, to study Political Science. During this time, he joined the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity at UT. His involvement with Phi Kap solidified him as being that "one guy that EVERYONE loved".
In his late 40s, Jimmy met his wife, Deborah Lynn (Long) Campbell. They fell in love while working together at State Farm and within a few years, became a family complete with stepdaughter, Micaela Rae Campos. As a family they loved new experiences, hot-rod shows, and cruising through downtown Austin in their family Jeep. Being a kind and dependable husband and stepfather was of the utmost importance to Jimmy and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.
Cigars, bourbon, Jeeps, and stimulating conversation is something Jimmy loved the most. Gatherings with family and friends was a favorite of his. If there was ever a large group, you would always find Jimmy in the center telling stories and jokes to those that would listen. Each spring, Jimmy looked forward to gathering with his Phi Kap brothers for a weekend of reminiscing and storytelling. He loved his HS classmates and was working on an upcoming class reunion back in Winnie, TX. He also enjoyed going back every year, when possible, to the Texas Rice Festival held in his hometown.
In addition to his partner, Deborah and stepdaughter Micaela, Jimmy is survived by his parents James Christopher Campbell Sr. and Betty Jo Campbell of Marble Falls, Texas; his brother, Jason Allen Campbell and his wife Kay DeAnne (Keith) Campbell of Blanco Texas; His niece, Malinda Nicole Campbell and his niece, Susannah Faith (Campbell) Gowdy and her husband Geron Gene Gowdy and their daughter, Lucy Oaklynn Gowdy; His nephew Jonathan David Campbell and his wife Hallie Claire (Gloor) Campbell.
A Memorial Service will be held at Beck Funeral Home, 4765 Priem Lane, Pflugerville, TX 78660 on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
