James "Jim" R. Cangelose, age 76, of Tucker, Georgia, passed away on December 1, 2023. He was born on February 20, 1947, in Vicksburg, MS, to the late Sam and Mary Cangelose. Jim was a kind person with a gentle soul who strongly believed in the closeness of family and friends.
Jim graduated high school in Shreveport, LA and moved to Atlanta in 1967. In 1972, he graduated from DeKalb Technical College with a degree in Computer Technology. Jim had a successful 34-year career as an Information Technologist for the Georgia Technical Authority, working in the Governor's Office serving under 5 Governors. He was known for his expertise and dedication in his field.
In his free time, Jim enjoyed, collecting rare guns, fishing, and photography. His true passion was Skeet Shooting which he enjoyed with his friends.
Jim is survived by his loving sister, Mary Linda Cangelose. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel, and Mary Cangelose, as well as his brother, Sam Cangelose.
A visitation will be held on December 6 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, followed by the Rosary Service at Wages and Sons Funeral Home located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA. On December 7, a funeral Mass will be held at 9:30am at St. Marguerite D'Youville Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia, followed by brunch at the parish Hall. A graveside service will then take place at 1:00pm at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital located in Memphis, TN, or Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
The team at Wages and Sons Funeral Homes and Crematorium is assisting the family during this difficult time.
