Jose Acevedo Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Antonio (Tony) Acevedo, a beloved son, father, brother, grandfather and veteran who left us far too soon.

Tony will be remembered for his generous spirit, warm smile, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. As a son, he brought joy and pride to his parents. As a father, he adored his 3 daughters, and worked hard to provide them with love, guidance, and laughter. As a brother, he was both a protector and a companion, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.

Throughout his life, Tony faced many challenges with incredible strength. He pushed through the pain and overcame his disability, never allowing it to define him or run his life. Instead, he chose to live with courage, determination, and a positive outlook that inspired everyone around him.

Tony was deeply proud of his Puerto Rican roots and carried his heritage with him in everything he did. His culture, traditions, and pride in where he came from were a source of strength and joy, which he shared with family and friends.

Tony's presence brought comfort to those who knew him, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

He is survived by his mother Francisca; his 3 daughters: Natalia, Alexandra, and Josie; and 4 grandchildren: Logan, Connor, Skyla, and Noah. He also leaves behind 2 sisters: Janet and Rosie; along with 3 brothers: Harvey, Luis, and Antonio; along with many extended family members, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Family will receive guest 1 hour prior to the service.

Though he is gone from our sight, Tony will never be forgotten.

As he always said, Life Rolls On.
