Obituary for James Ethan Citron

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ethan Citron, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, who left us on February 15, 2026, at the age of 47.

Ethan was born on August 11, 1978, in Royal Oak, Michigan, and later made his home in Irvine, California. Throughout his life, he was known for his generous heart, compassionate spirit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Ethan dedicated his professional life to helping others as a Sober Coach in the addiction rehabilitation field. Drawing from personal experience, he offered guidance, strength, and a listening ear to those navigating recovery. His empathy and commitment left a lasting impact on countless lives, instilling hope where it was needed most.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emil Citron; his beloved son, Chase Citron; and his grandmother, Elizabeth Rizak ("Granny").

Ethan is survived by his two cherished daughters, Brianna and Brielle Citron; his devoted mother, Mary Lou Citron; his brother, Andrew Citron; his sister, Emily Welsh and brother-in-law Tom Welsh; his sister, Erin Citron; his brother, Evan Citron; as well as his nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Mary Catherine, Jude, Eli, Abigail, and Javi. He also leaves behind many extended family members and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness.

Ethan's love for his family was boundless. He was a source of strength, loyalty, and inspiration to those who knew him best. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the love he gave and the difference he made.

A public viewing will take place at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619, on Wednesday February 25, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Ethan's honor at the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ, on Thursday February 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

As we gather to remember Ethan, we celebrate a life marked by compassion, service, and deep love. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
