Jim Claassen, 76, of Moline, Illinois, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at home on February 25th, 2024. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to William and Norma (White) Claassen. Jim graduated from the University of Iowa, where he met his future wife, Connie Patton, and they married in 1969.
Jim dedicated himself to a fulfilling career, working for Montgomery/Kone for 30 years, with assignments taking him to various locations across the country. Later, he spent a decade at Marco before retiring.
In his leisure time, Jim found joy on the golf course, where he spent many memorable years playing at Short Hills.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie, and his children Justin of Oakland, California, and Katie of Cathedral City, California. He was a cherished grandfather to four grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his brothers, Don and Bob Claassen, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jim Claassen will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his passion for the game of golf. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As per his wishes there will be no service. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline.
