James Clary, 77, of Londonderry passed away on August 24, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1948 in Vinton County to Sanford and Virginia Ruth (Burdette) Clary. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran, retired from Chillicothe VA after 25 years as a cook foreman and retired Air Force as MSgt E-7. He also was an Eagle Township Trustee for 4 years groundskeeper at The Inn at Cedar Falls and enjoyed being in the woods hunting mushrooms and ginseng. James was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings Thomas, Kenneth, Carl, Dale, Theodore, Sanford “Sam” Jr. and Charles Clary, Barbara Friend and Peggy Clary. James is survived by his wife Holly Patricia (Winnett) Clary whom he married on November 11, 1998; children James R. Clary Jr., John M. (Sherri) Clary, Robert L. (Lucy) Clary, Tyler Hart and Summer Clary; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with burial to follow in Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-7. The family would like to thank National Church Residence Hospice and Chillicothe VA primary home base care team for their care of James. Memorial contributions are suggested to your local dog rescue.
