James "JB" Cobb, born in 1941 in Fitzgerald, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service. He was the cherished son of Mollie Swain Cobb and Henry Cobb of Fitzgerald, GA, and the brother of two late sisters, Vera Hall and Alice Dameron with one living sister Marsha "Katie" Benning. In 1959, James moved to Syracuse, New York, where he started his career as a chef at Grimlow's. In 1969, he transitioned to Crouse-Hinds, where he continued his hardworking path. In 1967, he married Leeandia Cobb, and together they shared 57 years of marriage. They were blessed with two daughters: Lawanda Hodge and Tonyia Cobb, both of Atlanta, GA. James adored his four grandchildren: Tanesha Rambert (Tahj Rambert) of Tampa, FL; Charnele Hodge of Atlanta, GA; Jaron Hodge of Atlanta, GA; and Tavon Goddard of Houston, TX.4 Great-grandchildren that he loved dearly.
His devotion to his faith was evident through his lifelong membership at Four Square Gospel Church of God in Christ (COGIC), where he served for 64 years. His contributions to the church were vast, including 20 years as the head of the financial department, 37 years as a state usher, 25 years as a choir member, and 40 years overseeing the kitchen committee. For over 30 years, James operated Boulevard Books, a beloved cornerstone in the community, which reflected his passion for learning and business."JB" Cobb will be remembered as a man of faith, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a pillar of the Syracuse community. His commitment to his family, his church, and his work leaves a lasting impression on all who had the honor of knowing him.
A calling hour will be from 10 - 11 am on Wednesday, October 23 at Four Square Gospel COGIC, 218 Webster Ave., Syracuse. The service will follow the calling hour at 11 am. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. My prayers are with you. Mr. Cobb shopped at Price Chopper. It was always nice to talk to him. He will be missed by all that knew him.
