James Earl "Jim" Coffee, 72, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born November 5, 1953, in Ashland, KY to the late Earl Mason and Dorothy Mae Tomlin Coffee.

James had a lifelong love of music; he could play by ear, had a natural singing talent, and found joy in sharing music with others. He loved the Lord and spent many years as a cross-country truck driver. A gifted Master diesel mechanic, he had an uncanny ability to diagnose mechanical issues simply by sound. James had a wonderful sense of humor, could make anyone laugh, and dearly loved his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 39 years, Janet Rose Kimberlin, Coffee; his children, James and Jennifer Coffee Margaret and Millard Prichard. Michelle Layne, Brenda and Jeff Gillum; and his grandchildren, Patricia LeeAnn, Jessica, James Levi, Tayler, Karson, Alexis, Chase, Alex, Caleb, and Brianna. He is also survived by his siblings, Donnie Tufts, Linda Justice, and Rachel Davis.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

In accordance with Jim's wishes, services will not be held.
