Rose Ann Henson, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at the age of 80 in
Ashland, KY. Born on December 6, 1944, in Louisville, KY, she was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and friendship touched many lives.
Rose Ann graduated from Mercy High School in Louisville, where she laid the foundations of a life marked by compassion and service. She dedicated many years to healthcare, working diligently as a Unit Secretary at the former Saint Anthony Hospital in Louisville. Her caring nature extended to her work as a secretary at Pathways in Ashland, where she was not only a colleague but also a friend to many.
Rose Ann was a regular attendee of Normal Presbyterian Church. She was a person who effortlessly drew people toward her, creating lasting friendships wherever she went. Among these cherished relationships were the many friends she made at Catlettsburg Bingo, a testament to her friendly and engaging spirit.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Jeanette Branham of Ashland, her brother, Michael Woods of Louisville, KY, and her adored grandchildren, Maggie Branham, Justin Goodwin, and Mace Branham. Her very special daughter, Jerrie Goodwin, held a precious place in her heart. She will also be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Donna Knebel (John), Becky Henson (the late Joe Henson), and Kathy Henson Mardis (the late Doug Henson), who were integral parts of her extended family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Urban and Alice McQuaid Woods, her beloved husband, Charles M. Henson, her dear son, Charles B. Henson, and her sister, Pat Woods. Each of these individuals played a significant role in shaping Rose Ann's life, and their memories remained a source of joy and comfort to her.
Rose Ann's legacy is one of unwavering love and selfless kindness. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. She was the embodiment of a life well-lived, always putting others before herself and spreading joy with her warm smile and friendly demeanor.
