James O. Collins, age 74, a resident of Rockhouse Fork Road in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his home with family.
James was born March 29, 1950 in Salyersville, Kentucky; the son of the late Oscar and Yerdley Conley Collins.
James was employed for Continental Conveyor for over thirty years until his retirement. He was a member of the New Life Worship Center on New Paintsville Road in Salyersville, Kentucky, a former Past Master of the Salyersville Masonic Lodge #769 F&AM, and proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.
Those left to mourn include wife, Matilda Mullins Collins, sons, Michael Collins of Salyersville, Kentucky, James Brian Collins and wife Tammy of Salyersville, Kentucky, Joshua Collins of Salyersville, Kentucky, two sisters, Janette Holliday of Malone, Kentucky, Judy Reed Cain of Salyersville, Kentucky, two brothers, Michael Collins of Salyersville, Kentucky, Jerry Collins of Salyersville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Kaitlyn Shepard, Kara Collins Watkins, both of Salyersville, Kentucky, great grandchildren, Cason Francis and Hudson Shepard both of Salyersville, Kentucky, and a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for James Collins will be conducted Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM from New Life Worship Center in Salyersville, Kentucky. Pastor James Collins will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Bluegrass Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Friday, December 6, after 6:00 PM and anytime prior to the funeral services. Masonic Rites will be conducted Friday at 7:00 PM from the Church. Military Rites will be given by the Magoffin County Chapter D.A.V. on the day of service.
The Salyersville Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the funeral services.
