HOLIDAY, FL -- James Dennis "Cookie" Cook, 77, a longtime resident of Lima, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, in Tarpon Springs, Florida, while under hospice care.
James delighted many by playing Santa Claus and brought joy, kindness, and warmth to everyone who knew him. He worked for many years at the Lima Chemical Plant and was admired for his dedication and lasting friendships that he built over decades. A man of faith, he was an active church member who shared his spirit and compassion with others.
James is survived by his wife, Olivia, his children Jamie and Cammy, four cherished grandchildren, Austin, Callie, Brooklyn, and Madisyn, as well as his siblings Bob, Bill, and Pam.
James was proceeded in death by his son David Cook.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Shalom Ministries located at 144 N Phillips Road in Harrod, Ohio, on January 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm.

Lima Senior had a big class in 1965. I remember Jim. He does look like Santa. I think it is the nose. My husband and I also play Mr. & Mrs. Claus. My sympathy to the family.

Yeah, I remember my uncle playing Santa Claus but when I was younger, I did not know he was Santa Claus and I was scared to death of him. Lol you will be missed.

Livvy, do you remember us from West Elm many years ago? We have wonderful memories of those days. We are sorry to learn of Jim´s passing. I know he willl be missed. We send our deepest sympathies.
