Jim, I haven't seen you in so long. I just wanted to let you know that I held him in such high regard. One of my favorite coaches and more than that one of my favorite persons. I began to see him occasionally at Sunday (or maybe 4 Saturday) mass about 10 years ago i think - for a year or so. Hopefully our paths cross so i can tell you of a couple stories he shared with me. I am so sorry i missed services but i am out of town. Good luck and again, I hope to see you soon.

My deepest condolences to the Corbett family. Jimmy was my eldest cousin, and just five years younger than his youngest uncle-my father Jack-who passed away this past May. The two of them were great friends throughout their lives, and it was always a joy to see them together.
Jimmy was a proud Marine who served during the Korean War, a talented footballer in high school, and a dedicated public servant-first as a Chicago police officer, and later rising through the ranks of the Fire Department to become Deputy Chief. He was a devout Catholic, a natural storyteller, and one of the most fun people to be around. I especially cherish the memories of our family gatherings when he and many of the Chicago cousins made the trek up to our Farm in Wisconsin. Jimmy´s warmth and humor would light up the room as he and my Dad would trade hilarious stories of days past.
Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, and love. Those who knew him loved him. You will be missed, Jimmy, but not forgotten.
With love and respect, John

Jim was a fine man! I always enjoyed catching up with him at the old 12th battalion get togethers. He was a kind and personable soul and I am a better man having known Jim. CFD lost another great boss.
