James R. Coutley, age 80, Green Bay, Wis., passed away peacefully at home with support from family and friends. Born 5/14/1944 in Green Bay, the son of Russel and Edith (Lamaide) Coutley. Graduated from Preble High, went on to college, had various jobs then went into a very successful career in financial planning. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1972. He married the love of his life, Doreen Terrien on June 14, 1980. They were blessed to spend 44 years together. Jim was actively working up until his passing. He loved people and his job being able to visit with all of his many clients. He enjoyed many years of vacations, boating, but mostly spending time at home with friends and family. Jim loved his dogs, spending time in the garden and enjoying his yard. He always had funny stories to tell us about his amazing childhood and his brothers.
He is survived by his wife: Doreen; brother: David (Jennifer) Coutley; brother-in-law: Don(Mary)Terrien; sisters-in-law: Rita (George) Kamps, Sharon (Pat) Ronsman, Kathy (Fenner) (Glen) Gillis. He had many nieces, nephews and friends. He treasured his special relationship with his nephew, Jeff (Deena) Coutley. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Eddie and Don; sister-in-law: Karla Wendt; many close friends: Tommy, Tricky, Larry, Barb, Llyn and Fox; in-laws: Jerry and Eleanor Terrien.
Per Jim's and Doreen's wishes, there will not be any funeral. The family and close friends will be honoring Jimmy's memory at a later date.

A dear lifelong friend from Lakeside Place (also named Jim) passed away last Friday (7/1/25) and as I sifted through fond memories about him I suddenly felt a deep sense that Jim Coutley had passed. I looked online and found his obituary. It seemed fitting to share thoughts here to honor him and his significance in my life. Jim was my first "true love". He was cute and smart and clever and an all-around good guy. Although our young love didn´t endure beyond high school he always held a special place in my heart. I was very happy to learn in later years of his long and loving years with a wonderful woman named Doreen. He found what he richly deserved and my heart goes out to Doreen and his friends and family as they move forward through life without him.

Doreen I'm so sad to hear of Jim's passing. I knew him when we both had locations in the Allouez Central Mall. He always had a smile and a hi. After my wide passed away I noticed our paths will cross again. Your and Jim's bench is next to ours. It nice to be able to say hi neighbor like he did in the mall. God bless.
