Obituary of James T. Cunnea
James T. Cunnea, age 77, passed away peacefully at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY on October 22, 2022. Born in Evergreen Park, IL on August 5, 1945 to the late James and Margaret (nee McGinty)Cunnea, James was a Joliet area resident until his retirement, when he settled in Woodburn,KY. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Following his service to his country, James worked as a stage hand for many years, working for IATSE Local 2 and he was a 50 year Gold Card Member. He was respected by his peers for his work ethic and well rounded skill set, mostly as a Fly Man. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching Jeopardy, and entertaining friends. He was a captivating story teller who loved to make others smile.
James is survived by his children, Jeffery Rollinson, Tina (Todd) Ross, Erica Veugeler, and Laurie McLaughlin; his grandchildren Shane Ross, Justin Cunnea, and Amanda Ross; great grandchildren Kai Ross and Colton Cunnea; sister, Rosemary Tovey; former wife and dear friend Audrey Corso; and beloved cousin Patricia Hamstra.
Visitation for James T. Cunnea will be Friday, November 4, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
