JAMES CURTIS, SR.

James Curtis, Sr. departed this life at residence on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the age of 67. He was a native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of Avondale, LA and presently residing in Marrero, LA. James was a graduate of John H. Martyn High School and employed as a Mobile Coordinator with Children’s Hospital. James was a member of Fresh Start Baptist Cathedral, where he served as a deacon. Loving husband of Kim Curtis. Devoted father of Nakishia Curtis and James Curtis, Jr. Son of the late Boston Curtis and Sweetie B. Curtis. Grandson of the late Love Curtis, Katie Fultz Curtis, Walter Lofton, Sr., and Mary Johnson Lofton. Beloved brother of Howard Curtis, Sr., Hazel C. (Clarence) Chaffin, Josephine (Derick) Curtis, Maxine Curtis, and Donna Curtis Clark. Also cherishing his memories are 3 grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Fresh Start Baptist Cathedral and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Fresh Start Baptist Cathedral, 1542 Pailet Avenue, Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Bishop Sean Elder, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
