James Dacey, of Northern Kentucky, passed away on September 25, 2024 after a brave fight with cancer. Jim made the most of his 77 years, often saying that he had a great life! He was survived by his wife of over 50 years, Melody Dacey. He is also survived by his daughters Julie Keininger and Heather Tomlin (Joel) and his five grandchildren James Tomlin (Jessica), Jacob Tomlin (Tessa), Shelby Tomlin, Jason Keininger, and Kayla Keininger. He especially cherished his great-grandchildren James (JJ), Ava Rose, and Macklin Tomlin. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Dacey (Randi) and sister Patricia Dacey, and sisters and brothers-in law, Faith Loschiavo, Mark Wendling (Janice), Mike Wendling, Shelly Devoto (Joe) and many nieces and nephews. James was born on October 14, 1946 to Ruth and Robert Dacey. He graduated from Covington Catholic High School in 1964 and received his Bachelor’s degree from NKU. Jim owned D&D Distribution, a manufacturer’s representative company, for specialty fasteners and welding equipment. Jim enjoyed sports, fishing and traveling the country for football games. Most of all, he loved socializing with family, friends, and neighbors. Jim will be remembered for his good-natured spirit, generosity, and positive outlook on life. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3 rd from 4-6 p.m. with mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Pius X Church, Edgewood, Kentucky. Donations in memory of Jim can be sent to Hoxworth Blood Center.
