James Davis Obituary
James Larry Davis, 80, of Mills River, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Charles George VA Medical Center in the Valor Care Unit. Born February 26, 1943 in Hendersonville, NC, he was the son of the late James Dewey Davis and Catherine Pace Davis. He was a graduate of Hendersonville High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Larry was a Sales Manager for Bryan Easley Ford and later for Hunter Lincoln and Mercury. He was a member of the American Legion Post 77, past president of the Day Break Lions Club, and member of the Henderson County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol. Of his many passions, casting line for the big one, playing with his many dogs, cats, and horses, and spending time with his family were among the most important. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, James Benjamin Davis. Surviving are his loving spouse of 20 years, Dottie Davis; children, Jody Leigh Davis of New Jersey, and Megan Suzzane Hughes of Fuqua-Varina, NC; sister, Linda Davis of Zirconia, NC; step-children, Kenneth Michael Todd of Murphy, NC, Richard Patrick Todd of Jacksonville, FL, and Arnold Raymond Todd and his spouse, Julie, of Florida; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A private service will be held at a later date.
