James Allen DeSeyn was a dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born May 15, 1954, in Rochester, NY to Peter and Elizabeth DeSeyn. He grew up in Williamson, NY and graduated as Valedictorian from Edison Career and Technology High School. Following graduation, he attended an apprenticeship program at Addison Tool & Die.
Jim moved to Neche, ND in 1975 and on October 5, 1976, married the love of his life, Barbie Noble, of Winnipeg, MB. He worked in construction for several years, then transitioned into selling wheelchairs eventually starting his own company, Designer Care Company, selling disposable PPE products for 30 years.
Surrounded by his family, Jim went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father Peter DeSeyn, mother, Elizabeth DeSeyn, and infant brother, David. Forever grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Barbie DeSeyn, daughters: Jillian (Jay) Johnston of Prosper, TX, Christy (Jared) Hanson of Neche, ND, son, Pete of Neche, ND, grand-children: Kroy, Keller, and Kutler Johnston and Hayes and Huck Hanson, and nephew, Wendell (Melissa) Symington, Brandon, SD and their children Layne & Gemma Symington. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Kay DeSeyn, Fairport, NY, John DeSeyn, Macedon, NY, and Phyllis (Vern) Symington of Neche, ND.
Jim was one of a kind, whose life was devoted to his faith, family, and friends. Although Jim’s life took the road less traveled, his faith in God encouraged him to never give up. He took impeccable care of his handicapped son, Pete, always putting his and others needs ahead of his own. Jim was a business owner who developed lifelong relationships with his associates. He was known for his kindness and compassion towards all walks of life. Spending time with his family, watching any sort of racing, and planning surprise excursions for everyone he loved were his favorite pastimes.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 10, 2022, with visitation one hour prior at Christ Lutheran Church in Neche, ND.
