James Scott Dewberry

James Scott Dewberry, known affectionately as Scott, passed away on June 27, 2023, leaving a profound void in the lives of all who knew him. Born on November 14, 1962, in Fort Benning, GA, Scott's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his work at Continental Tire and his love and devotion to his family and friends. His passing leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and a steadfast spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
In 1983, Scott found true love when he married Lori Myers. Scott's love for his family was immeasurable. As a devoted husband and father, he poured every ounce of himself into ensuring their happiness and wellbeing.
Beyond his immediate family, Scott shared cherished connections with his extended family and friends. His father, Lucius Ambrose Dewberry, and beloved mother, Shirley Lunsford Dewberry, brought him into this world and instilled in him the values that guided his every action. Scott was also preceded in death by his brother, Lucius Craig Dewberry, and sister April Dewberry Hepner, cherishing the bond they shared throughout their lives. Lori's parents, Charles Loyd Myers and Bettye Lea King Myers, were more than just in-laws to Scott – they embraced him as a son and welcomed him with open hearts. This tight-knit family dynamic brought immeasurable joy to all involved.
Scott is survived by his adoring wife Lori Myers Dewberry, whose love and support remained steadfast until the very end of his journey. He also leaves behind a beautiful legacy in his sons Tanner Scott and Cameron James. May they find solace in the knowledge that their father's spirit will forever guide them through life's challenges. The loss of Scott is not only felt among family members but also resonates with his brother-in-law Michael Loyd Myers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whose lives he touched in countless ways. Each one holds memories of special moments shared with Scott close to their hearts.
A memorial service will be held to honor the life of James Scott Dewberry on July 1st, 2023. The service will take place at Pearson Baptist Church located at 151 S Pearson Rd in Pearl, MS. Starting at 11:00 AM.
