James Dial, Sr., 76, of Ridgely, died Saturday, October 25, 2025, at his residence. Born February 9, 1949, he was preceded in death by his parents, Cora and Joel Dial. He was a member of Willingham Baptist Church. James was retired. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Chuck Graham with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Dial; one daughter Kathy Clay and husband Jerry of Dyersburg, one son James Dial, Jr. and wife Kim of Obion; ten grandchildren Shayna (Matt) Ammons, Kelsy (Peyton) Lebo, Hope (Chase) Rogers, Hunter Winchester, Bo Wilson, Luke Wilson, John Wilson, Aliyah Cassler, Ava Cassler, Raylee Roland; seven great-grandchildren, Blayze Burg, Mason Ammons, Cambri Cruce, Milly Rogers, Kinslee Rogers, Kynadi Lebo, Cooper Rogers; two sisters, Norma Dannatell, Barbara (Robert) Bucklan, both of North Carolina; and Danny (Linda) Dial of Dyersburg. Members of the Lake County Rescue Squad will serve as pallbearers. Mike Bates will serve as an honorary pallbearer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rachel O. Dial; four sisters, Lucy Autry, Marie Peschke, JoAnne Wood, Judy (Danny) Goodman; and three brothers, Johnny (Frances) Dial, Robert Neil and Joel Thomas Dial.
