James "Jim" Diamond passed away on August 7th, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife, Camille, his two sons, Dan and Pete, his daughter in-laws Shea and Jessica and his grandson, Conor. Jim was born on October 16th, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Margaret Diamond. Jim was one of John and Margaret's 11 children, with 9 brothers, Den, Tom, Kevin, Paul, Bill, Matt, Mike, Bob and Pat and one sister, Joan.
Jim grew up with his family in Chicago and later Clarendon Hills, IL. Jim graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 1977 where he met Camille. During his youth, he enjoyed playing all different sports but particularly excelled at baseball and football. Jim graduated from the University of Illinois in 1982. Shortly after graduating college, Jim and Camille were married in Hinsdale, IL on July 24, 1982. Jim was a loving husband and phenomenal father and grandfather, who always wanted to spend time with his family, no matter what or where it was - be it coaching hockey, driving the long ways to games or tournaments, treating the family to dinner out, hiking, watching movies or sports. In 2008, Jim and his family moved to Phoenix, AZ where he continued to enjoy the outdoors by playing golf, hiking, biking, and firing up his grill and joining in on a family pool volleyball game. He regularly attended services at Christ's Church of the Valley.
Jim was known for his sense of humor and ability to tell a story. He was extremely proud of his sons and always prioritized his family and faith. Jim will be missed by all who knew him, but his family is at peace knowing he is with the Lord. A party in Jim's honor will take place in the Chicago Area on October 12th, 2025.
