James Francis Dings, 83, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Niles, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on July 16, 1942 in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Raymond H. Dings and Opal P, (Dudley) Dings.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Harriet McElheney, Raymond Dings, and Rachel Simpson.
Left to cherish the memory of Jim is his loving wife of 52 years, June M. (Brownell) Dings; son, Jaysen (Beth) Dings; stepdaughter, Cynthia (Al) Losey; grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Jaimee, Mason, and Avery, and great grandchildren, Dominic, Cameron, Charlee, River, Harper, Elli, Chase, Kit, and Mateo.
Known for his passion for playing cards, Jim particularly enjoyed Euchre and Bridge, often gathering with friends to share laughter and a good game. Jim was also an avid fan of the casino, where he relished the thrill of chance. He cherished dining with friends and family, always bringing warmth and joy to every gathering.
Above all else, Jim's passion for family was evident in everything he did.
Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honor of Jim have been asked to consider Berrien County Cancer Services, 3900 Hollywood Road, St, Joseph, MI 49085.
In keeping with Jim's wishes, he will be laid to rest privately at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
