James Dereck Douglas, 58, of Jackson, MS passed at his home on October 12th, 2024. Visitation will be 10am-12pm Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. The Memorial Service to celebrate his life will follow at 12 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Dereck was born in Jackson, MS in 1965 to Kendal Edgar Douglas and Cleta Tanner Douglas.
Dereck was a sincere, sweet, and simple man. He had a kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for family. He never took anything too serious and was quick to laugh. He had a love for classic cars, hot rods, and anything that went fast. He spent his time fishing, boating, hunting and working hard. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and never met a stranger. He was a welder by trade and always took pride in his work, including working for his family’s business for many years.
Dereck was preceded in death by his father, Kendal Douglas
He is survived by his mother, Cleta Douglas; his daughter, Rylee Douglas, and his brother Bart Douglas (Andrea).
