James Louis Ducette, age 58, of Wakefield passed away on January 1, 2026 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was born in Chelsea on May 14, 1967 and was the son of Suzanne (Langevin) Ducette of Wakefield and the late Raymond Ducette, Jr.
He was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1985. He was a lover of dogs and had adopted several from PAWS of Wakefield. James was a very loyal friend.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings Elizabeth Smith and her husband Donald of Quincy, Elaine Ducette of Wakefield, Edward Ducette and his wife Patricia of Wakefield, and Raymond Ducette III and his wife Mary of Bloomington Indiana. He was the uncle of Nicholas Ducette and the great uncle of Seth Ruchalski, both of Tewksbury.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, January 12 from 10am-12pm.
A private interment for family will take place at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages donations be made to PAWS, 411 Lowell Street, Wakefield, MA 01880.
