Mark B. DuCette
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Mark Brian DuCette, on March 1, 2024. He will be greatly missed. He was a lifelong resident of Waukesha, born here on January 19, 1983.
He was easy to talk to, had a kind heart, gentle nature, extraordinary patience, a genuine respect for others, and a great sense of humor, despite dealing with many health issues throughout his all too short life. We were proud to call him our son.
In 2003, Mark graduated from the Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Janesville, Wisconsin, and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha for two years. He then transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, majoring in history. While there he became an avid fan of the Warhawks football team and enjoyed listening to their games every season.
He also was a loyal fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers and rarely missed listening to the broadcasts of their games. He especially liked Bob Uecker's humorous commentary and was counting down the days to the Brewers opening day.
Mark was an avid reader of audio books and belonged to a book club for the visually impaired. Over the past few years, his dad joined him in reading, and they spent many hours together listening to books.
One of Mark's favorite pastimes was watching movies. He had a remarkable memory and a rather unique talent to be able to hear a few notes from a song and identify what movie the song was from.
Mark is survived by his father, Mike DuCette and mother Debbie, his brother Matt, sister-in-law Rachel, nephew Jack and niece Brynn. He is further survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, honorary brother Jason Sansone and many friends who will remember him for his loving spirit. He will be forever remembered in our hearts.
