James Gary Dunman, 79, of 36 Christy's Way, Roxboro, died Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Born in Caswell County, Mr. Dunman was the son of the late George Washington and Nannie Brooks Dunman and husband of the late Linda Marie Blevins Dunman. Mr. Dunman was also preceded in death by his grandson, Judson Clint Regan, his son-in-law, Barry Regan, his siblings, Carlton Dunman, Frances Owens and Pauline Dunigan, his half-brother, Douglas Dunman and his half-sister, Virginia Conway. Mr. Dunman retired from Tultex after 29 years until its closure and then Helena Elementary School and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the US Army for 2 years, one being in Vietnam. He loved riding and Western's. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a great brother to his siblings.
Mr. Dunman is survived by two children: Angela D. Regan, of Roxboro and Julie Ann D. Morris and husband Kevin, of Hurdle Mills; one brother, Kenneth Gerald Dunman and wife Frances, of Rougemont; two sisters: Helen Clayton, of Creedmoor and Geneva Vaughn, of Hurdle Mills; two grandchildren: Jeremy Harris (Jordan) and Chase Morris; two great-grandchildren: Aubrey Marie Harris and Brynleigh Reece Harris; a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held 3 PM Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church with the Dr. M. David Chambers officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Person County Animal Shelter, 2103 Chub Lake Rd., Roxboro, NC, 27574.
