Napoli - James R. Eberle Jr., 60, of the town of Napoli, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at his home. He was born on November 13, 1964 in Jamestown, son of the late James R. Eberle Sr. and former Joan Sanderlin, who survives.
A graduate of Randolph Central School, Jim always worked with his hands and on vehicles. He first worked at Truck-Lite in Falconer before becoming a mechanic at Landmark Chevrolet in Randolph, where he worked for many years. Jim enjoyed working on cars outside of work too, as he worked on friends' vehicles for them, and loved racing and partaking in area demo-derbies. His love for racing continued with his NASCAR fandom, of whom he devoutly followed Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was always an avid hunter, and was also a member of the East Randolph Fire Dept.
Besides his mother, Jim is survived by an ex-wife, Diana (Bob) Howard of Little Valley, with whom he shared two daughters with; Courtney (Jeremy) Zimmerman of Kennedy, and Kimberly (Kenny) Grainer of Little Valley. Also surviving is a sister, Mary (Tim) Pence of Randolph, a step-sister, Joyce (Greg) Glaze of OH, and two step-brothers; Tom Porter of KY and Tim Porter of FL. Jim is also survived by two nieces; Jennifer (John) of Erie, PA, and Ashley (Todd) of Williamsport, PA, and a nephew, Tim (Dana) of Randolph, a family friend, Sandra Conrad, as well as his two dogs, Missy and Zeus.
Besides his father, Jim is predeceased by his step-mother, Darlene Eberle.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 1-3 pm from VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph.
Memorials may be made to the East Randolph Fire Dept.
