James "Jimmy" Lawrence Edwards
James Edwards, affectionately known as Jimmy, was born on May 19, 1966, in Vero Beach, FL, to Jerry Edwards and Marjorie Bass. He passed away on July 24, 2025, at his home in Okeechobee, FL.
Jimmy attended Vero Beach High School and proudly served in the United States Army. He went on to build a 25-year career as a Lineman with various utility companies. Jimmy especially enjoyed cooking and hosting backyard barbecues, where he would fire up his smoker for friends and family, music playing, and a cold Crown and 7-UP in hand.
Jimmy deeply loved his family, cherishing his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. Above all, he treasured the 24 years shared with his beloved wife, Mandi.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda "Mandi" Edwards of Okeechobee, FL; children: Travis (Jenny) Edwards of Ooltewah, TN; Justin (Ashley) Edwards of Vero Beach, FL; Caity (Erik) Box of Sebring, FL; Kasey (Brandon) Brown of Okeechobee, FL; James Edwards of Okeechobee, FL; and Jared Edwards of Vero Beach, FL. He is also survived by his parents, Jerry and Margie, his grandchildren, Maycee, Eli, Addyson, Dawson, Eloise, Wesson, and soon-to-arrive baby Tate, his siblings, Laura (Jeff) Varnadoe, David (Megan) Edwards, and Linda Pike Rice; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Edwards, and his granddaughter, Blakely.
Jimmy will be remembered for his big heart, dedication to his family, and the joy he brought to everyone he met.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at his home in Okeechobee, FL on Saturday, August 2nd at 2:00PM.
