James "Jim" Eleazer

James "Jim" Ben Eleazer, Jr., 85, passed away September 24, 2024.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late James Ben Eleazer, Sr. and Edna Cannon Eleazer, he was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired employee of AT&T, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a life deacon and Sunday school teacher. He went on numerous mission trips and loved gardening, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Georgia Fowler Vann Eleazer of the home; four children, James "Dimp" Eleazer III (Jennifer) of Greer, Jennifer E. DeShields of Lyman, John L. Durham (Nancy) of Inman, and Joni M. Durham of Moore; a brother, Johnny Eleazer (Barbara) of Woodruff; four sisters, Betty Hagler of Huntsville, Alabama, Jean Tinsley, Sally Eleazer, and Ann Hannon all of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren, Cam Morris (Neil), Brandon Durham (Jessica), Preston "Moose" Durham (Tobie), Brooke Doyle, Cameron Eleazer (Haleigh), Gabe Eleazer, and Lucy DeShields; and twelve great-grandchildren, Audrey, Emory, Peyton, Alex, Kate, Lucas, Jake, Sawyer, Eric, Max, Tyler, and Wren.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Robyn Doyle.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Bob Atwell, Mr. Dimp Eleazer, and Mr. John Durham.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Eleazer, Gabe Eleazer, Neil Morris, Max Perez, Brandon Durham, Moose Durham, Emory Morris, and Eric Perez.
The family is at their respective homes.
