James Lee Emerson Jr.

James Lee Emerson, Jr., 66, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on September 24, 2023. Mr. Emerson was born on September 15, 1957 in Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Nannie Louise (Taylor) Emerson, and AW Vester and Nell Pearl Woods; and his parents, James Lee Emerson, Sr. and Sylvia Jean Emerson. He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Culver (David); daughter, Melissa Frazee (Josh); grandchildren: Erin Sutton, Hannah Culver, Sebastian Frazee, Jayden Frazee, and Jasmine Frazee; sister, Patsy Emerson Howard (Jessie); nephews, Eric and Trever Howard; cousin, Steve Brown (Renate); and mother of his children, Judy Emerson. Mr. Emerson had a great sense of humor and could always make someone laugh. He was a talented guitar player. He liked watching the Miami Dolphins play. Through his life, he helped many people in AA who were struggling and was passionate about helping them. He has also enjoyed studying herbology and natural healing over the years. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1-2 pm with a memorial service to begin at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org).
