Funeral Services for James Ervin Ezell "Butch" will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Lapine Assembly of God, 550 Lapine Rd, West Monroe, LA. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 AM at the Church. Interment will follow at Lapine Assembly Cemetery.
He was an amazing grandfather and father. He loved his wife, Shirley Ezell of 21 years. He enjoyed fishing so we could have big fish fries with friends and family. He enjoyed playing pool and it was very hard for anyone to beat him. He also liked sitting in his shop, watching all of us and watching his great granddaughter Sarah Ashley playing in the dirt or sitting in his lap and playing on her tablet with him. He loved his granddaughter so much. On the holidays, he always made us his favorite drunk chicken or drunk turkey that tasted amazing. In his early years, he was an owner of H&E construction as a roofer. He did that for several years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in West Monroe where he and grandma would play cards or bingo together. Grandpa had the biggest heart, and he will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Butch was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ezell; parents, Clinton Ezell and Shirley Frith; children, Sharon Renee. Alisha Kay, Linda Kae.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Angela Powell and Brenda Faye; grandchildren, Sheena Vogt (James), Shantel Golsby (Danie), Joseph, Haliey and Angelina.
The Pallbearers will be James Vogt, Joseph Atkins, Wesley Butler, Steve Howard, Hunter Vogt and Mitchell Moore.
