He retired from Roanoke Chowan Community College as a basic skills teacher. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He was a dedicated servant at Mill Neck Missionary Baptist Church.
James leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Carolyn Myrick Farrow of the home. one son, Milton Williams (Jennifer) of Murfreesboro, NC; one "daughter/granddaughter, Ciara G. Tell (Jack) of Waldolf, MD; one sister Lesa Yvette Farrow of Winterville, NC; 2 additional grandchildren, 1.5 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
