Revelation 14:13
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."
The true measure of a man is the love he leaves behind. On July 12, 2023 James "Jim" Fisher passed away at the age of 74. Jim was called home after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. The love Jim left in his passing is immeasurable. The phrase, "to know him is to love him" is often touted yet may not do enough justice for the lives that Jim has touched.
Jim grew up in Milford, OH where from a young age he demonstrated his mechanical aptitude. At the age of 14 Jim began work on his first car, a 1955 Chevy Bel Air that he would build, with the help of his father, from the ground up. In High School Jim would become a member of the Fraternity TO (Thirty of the Best) where he built lifelong friendships with men he would later consider family. Jim would then go on to proudly serve his country in The Vietnam War. After returning from the War, Jim would begin a lifelong career in the HVAC and Refrigeration industry where he became known as the guy you called if you wanted it done right the first time.
Jim truly spent his life in service to others. He devoted a great deal of his time and energy to helping people. If it broke, he could fix it... unless it was a VCR. Pretty much anything else though. A common phrase among family and friends, "I don't know, call Jim!"
Jim was a family man. Devoted father to his children. He worked tirelessly to provide. Jim was not one to complain. Jim was kind, funny, helpful, smart, slow to anger and though he may not always have said many words... people listened when he spoke because you knew it was truthful and it was often what you needed to hear. Jim loved classic cars. He spent a great deal of his time on his boat fishing. Jim had a passion for life and left a legacy that will live on in his absence.
In the last years of his life Jim was surrounded by those who loved him and those whom he loved. He lived a full life, a happy life... a great life and has now moved on to eternity with our Lord and Savior. Today, Jim is likely fishing on a lake so beautiful that our minds cannot comprehend its majesty and glory. Surrounded by those who loved him that passed before him. He is at peace; he has no pain and he is home.
Jim Fisher, beloved son of our Heavenly Father and his Earthly father the late Roger Fisher is survived by his mother Georgia Fisher, his brother Ed Fisher (his wife Rita), his sister Donna Waters (her husband Buck), the mother of his children Donna Fisher, his children Tracy Goddard (her husband Rob) and Tony Fisher (his Fiancé Celeste), his grandchildren Grace Goddard, Faith Goddard and Jimmy Drummond, his loving and devoted spouse Susan Rudolph and a myriad of family members and friends whose lives he truly touched.
Family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, OH on Tuesday, July 18th from 5 PM until time of funeral services beginning at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to your local Hospice so that others may experience the same great compassion, care and comfort through their final seasons of life.
"Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean."
