James Michael "Jim" Flood

James "Jim" Michael Flood, 50, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 23, 1974, in Orange, NJ, Jim was the cherished son of Thomas and Anne Marie Flood (née Moore). He was a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore.
Jim was a proud graduate of the Christian Brothers Academy Class of 1993, and continued his education at Brookdale Community College. A gifted and talented artist, photographer, and musician, he shared his creative soul with all who knew him. His love for the natural world, especially the ocean, shaped much of his life and Jim felt at home while surfing and surrounded by nature.
Above all, Jim will be remembered as a devoted son, a loving brother, and a proud uncle to his beloved nephew Conor. His quiet strength, creative spirit, and warm heart left an indelible mark on his family and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his grandparents Mae and Jim Moore and Irene and Luke Flood, as well as his aunt Judy Clohosey. He is survived by his parents Thomas and Anne Marie Flood of Red Bank; his son Thurston; his brothers Luke (Rebecca) of Charleston, John of Atlantic Highlands, and Brian (Alison) of Tinton Falls; his uncles John (June) of San Mateo, CA, and Jerry (Nancy) of Belmar; his aunt Marguerite (Claude) of Kenilworth; and his cherished nephew Conor. He will be missed deeply by his extended family and many friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, June 10th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank.
