James C. Flood Jr.

March 29, 1941 – September 6, 2025

James C. Flood Jr., 84, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the Bronx, New York, on March 29, 1941, James made his home in Edgewater Park, where he raised his family on the banks of the Long Island Sound and and for 41 years in Rockland County before moving to Columbus, New Jersey, where he spent his later years enjoying the peace of retirement.

James was a hard worker from the very beginning. After graduating high school, he entered the construction field as a tunnel digger, helping to build the Cross Bronx Expressway. He later joined Con Edison as a splicer and, through dedication and skill, rose to become one of the company's top Troubleshooters. He retired after 42 years of devoted service.

A lifelong baseball fan, James loved the New York Yankees and cheered just as passionately for the Dallas Cowboys. He spent many happy hours on his boat, especially teaching his children how to waterski. A gifted and creative carpenter, James could build just about anything. Over the years, he renovated his home, constructed a deck around the pool complete with a working Budweiser beer tap, built a shed, and even designed a tournament-grade horseshoe pit with an electronic scoreboard.

But above all, James's greatest joy was his family and closest friends. He will be remembered for his hearty laugh, quick wit, and incredible sense of humor-a man who brought warmth, fun, and love wherever he went.

He leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and laughter that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Son of the late James C Sr. and Susan Flood, he is survived by his devoted wife, Lorraine Flood, his beloved children, Lynn and Timothy Adams, Jeanmarie Leote and James C III and Lynn Flood, his loving grandchildren, Christie, Justine, Kelly, Michael, Nicole, Matthew, Ashley, and his adorable 8 great grandchildren.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be Celebrated on Friday 12, 2025, 11:30 am at St. Anthony's Church 36 W Nyack Rd, Nanuet, NY 10954. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm and then again Friday morning from 8:00-9:00 am.
