James Frediani Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service on Jul. 23, 2025.
James "Jim" Thomas Frediani, 93, of Geneva, Illinois, formerly of Huntley, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025.
He was born on June 20, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Daniel and Angeline (Simon) Frediani. Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956, mostly in Okinawa. He married the love of his life, Joanne Jordan, on October 1, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. She survives.
Jim worked as a cost analyst in the insurance business for much of his career, but also enjoyed working as a school bus driver for nearly two decades. The couple called Palatine home for 33 years before making their move to the Huntley area. He was a lifelong 16-inch softball player and played in several leagues in the Chicago area until his 60's. Jim was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Peter Church in Geneva at the time of his passing. When he wasn't cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs, he enjoyed spending time hiking and camping. He passed his love of nature down to his children and grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, Joanne, Jim is survived by his sons, James (Michelle) Frediani, Michael (Eva) Frediani, and Thomas Frediani; his grandchildren, Kayla, Anthony, Daniel, Thala, Hannah, Amanda, Rachel, Michael, and Jessica; and his great-grandchildren, Kaden, Nicholas, Madilynn, Jailee, Noelle, and River.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 9am until time of Mass at 10am, at St. Mary Catholic Church – 10307 Dundee-Huntley Rd, Huntley, Illinois 60142. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
