It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jimmy) Michael Fuerst Jr., who left us on March 22, 2025, at his home. Jimmy's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of his family and friends, but his spirit, warmth, and quick wit will continue to shine through those who knew him.
Born on November 1, 1952, in Cleveland, OH, Jimmy was a lifelong Cuyahoga County resident.
He was the loving father of Melissa (Douglas) Riggins and Jeffrey (Ashton) Fuerst. Jimmy was an adored grandfather to Sidney Riggins and excitedly awaited the arrival of his second grandson. His family meant the world to him, and he was a proud and devoted dad and grandpa.
As a brother, Jimmy was a cherished part of a large and close-knit family. He is survived by his siblings: Carol (Jim) Ashdown, Ellen (Ken) Wiener, Susan Fuerst, Daniel (Paulette) Fuerst, Joan (Joe) Allega, and Patrick (Carol) Fuerst, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were fortunate enough to know him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Fuerst Sr. and Dorothy Ann Fuerst (née Ray).
A proud Cleveland native, Jimmy had a love for his hometown, particularly Cleveland sports, and was a faithful supporter of his teams. He had a gentle spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and a kindness that radiated to everyone he met. Jimmy's passions included golf, playing pool, and baseball, and he brought a sense of joy and camaraderie wherever he went.
Jimmy worked for Ohio Bell (later known as AT&T) and retired in 2011 after a dedicated 40-year career. He was also a beloved bar owner in Cleveland for 25 years. His bar was a community hub where he became a pillar in the community, making lasting friendships and creating a space for laughter, camaraderie, and connection.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the East Side Irish American Club, 22770 Lakeshore Blvd., Euclid, OH 44123.
In honor of his life and legacy, the family welcomes all who knew him to join them in remembering the love, joy, and laughter he brought to the world. For those wishing to leave condolences, please visit www.MCVfuneralhomes.com.
Jimmy's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be missed more than words can express.

I am sad to hear of Jims passing. I worked years with Jim for about 30 years at OBT. I remember a fun loving guy and a excellent worker.

Just met Jimmy a few short years ago, but as we talked over those years we knew many of the same people and it was always good to talk with him.... I´m going to miss that for sure... Rest easy my friend.
