James Marvin Gerow Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 67. Born in Pensacola, Florida, on August 20, 1958, James was raised in Freehold, NJ, where he carved a path of learning and life, graduating from Freehold Boro High School.
James spent his professional life as a skilled landscaper, transforming outdoor spaces with his artistic vision and dedication. His artistic talent extended beyond landscaping, as he was an accomplished artist who loved to spend his free time painting and drawing murals, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and creativity.
James is survived by his loving children, James, Amanda, and Dalton, who were the pride and joy of his life. His vibrant spirit lives on through his cherished nine grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness and treasured memories. James's loving siblings, Gregory, Joseph, Jerry, Levick, Anthony, Barbara, and Karen, along with his cousin Paul Gerow, will miss him dearly and hold his memory close to their hearts.
James was preceded in death by his father, James Gerow, and his mother, Mary Gerow.
Arrangements for James's final farewell are being respectfully provided by the Cremation Society of Virginia.
