James Franklin Geter, "The first and only", beloved Daddy, Pop, Grandpa, GP, and Jeff passed away at the age of 76 on Saturday July 6, 2024, in Knoxville, TN. Mr. Geter proudly served his country in the United States Army and went on to dedicated 34 years of his life as a machinist at TVA's Kingston Fossil Plant. He had a passion for music and playing the drums; and he also loved riding motorcycles. Mr. Geter was a faithful member of Oak Ridge Masonic Lodge 354 F&AM. He was preceded in death by son, James Shelby Geter; mother, Carrie Lou Ford Geter; father, Arthur Geter; and sister, Lou Ella Buford. Left to cherish his memory are son, James Aaron Geter; daughters, Sisley Shereen Geter and Jazmine Leanna Geter; grandchildren, Karlissa Jourdan Kertchaval, Braylin Shelby Geter, James Jaxon Geter, Amyah Brooklyn Geter, and Liana Jade Scarborough; great granddaughter, Kaia Jourdan Reynolds; brother, Arthur Geter II; sisters, Carolyn Dix and Mary Katherine Goodwin. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Reverend Charles Sanderfur officiating. The family and friends will meet at 1:00 pm Wednesday July 17, 2024, at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway Chapel and travel in procession to East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard for a 2:00 pm interment service with military honors. There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following the burial services at Holston Hills Country Club (5200 Holston Hills Rd Knoxville, TN 37914). Serving as pallbearers are James Aaron Geter, Braylin Shelby Geter, John Moulden, John Carter, Mohammed Al-Shuweiley, Blake Wells, and Josh Carroll.
